I don’t want to be categorized as an ideal housewife just because I’m someone’s mother. Every mother isn’t a household genie, who takes care of the children and house wearing an apron with a smile on her face. Mother doesn’t have to look or dress in certain way, mother isn’t necessarily even a woman by default. Motherhood isn’t something that prevents one from doing things, they just might take more organizing to accomplish.
Becoming a mother most often means a change in one’s values and the view of life, but that doesn’t mean, that as a mother one has to let go of their personality or stop doing things, that are important to their well-being. Being an artist, working, studying, traveling and also concentrating on my own career doesn’t make me a bad mother. In fact, those are the exact things that make me a good and happy mother especially to my children.
